A server room is a place where air conditioning is part of the equipment. Its design responds to the load of the machines and to the rules of whoever runs it, and it usually has controlled access, entry logs and its own procedures for any work. Often the room shares networks with the office or the building, and it is not always obvious which duct belongs to which.
Here the inspection starts with a conversation, not with a camera: what can be touched, who authorizes, with what escort and in which maintenance window. Everything is coordinated with the client’s protocol and technical team, and no work is done without that agreement. Continuity and availability of the room are managed by the client, and the service adjusts to those conditions.
Data point: In an air system that looked clean to the naked eye, 10⁵ to 10⁶ viable bacteria per cm² were counted on the coil fins (Hugenholtz and Fuerst, 1992). It is a case measured in a single system, not a general figure, which is why the camera looks inside before deciding.
