Why does air conditioning corrode near the sea?
Technical article from the resource center.
Because sea air carries suspended salts that, combined with humidity, speed up the corrosion of the metals of the equipment and of the system components.
Stains and rust on metal surfaces, wear of exposed components and deposits building up on the coil. These are signs that are reviewed during the inspection.
Exposure to salt air is one of the factors taken into account when deciding how often to inspect a system. In an installation near the sea, periodic inspection makes it possible to detect wear before it affects operation.
