Marbella is a central and dynamic area close to the coastal strip, where offices, hotels, restaurants, leisure venues and residential towers sit side by side. Many of those businesses stay open late, so the air conditioning is almost never switched off.
That mix shows in the ductwork. In a lobby, a lounge or a dining room visitors sense the air as soon as they walk in, and a unit that runs all year almost never dries out inside: the dust on the duct walls stays damp and can encourage mold. With almost no downtime, cleaning is scheduled in a work window agreed with each venue. The area is about 4 km by road from the Climatiza office, in an approximate calculation.
Data point: In an air system that looked clean to the naked eye, 10⁵ to 10⁶ viable bacteria per cm² were counted on the coil fins (Hugenholtz and Fuerst, 1992). It is a case measured in a single system, not a general figure, which is why the camera looks inside before deciding.
